Rhode Island Promise will pay for the remaining cost of tuition and mandatory fees incurred based on enrollment in at least 12 credits after free money (Pell, SEOG, institutional aid and any other scholarships earned) has been applied.

Through the RI Promise program, eligible students are able to attend the Community College of Rhode Island for up to two years free of tuition and mandatory student fees. The current RI Promise legislation provides this scholarship through the high school graduating class of 2021.

It is a mid-size institution with an enrollment of 5,821 undergraduate students. The CCRI acceptance rate is 100%.

The RI Promise program allows Rhode Island residents who meet program eligibility criteria to attend CCRI for up to two years free of tuition and mandatory fees. These are costs that every CCRI student is required to pay to enroll in classes.

Williams founded the colony of Rhode Island based upon principles of complete religious toleration, separation of church and state, and political democracy (values that the U.S. would later be founded upon). It became a refuge for people persecuted for their religious beliefs.

Enroll at the Community College of Rhode Island in fall 2023 and become a Rhode Island Promise Scholar. Through the Promise scholarship, all Rhode Islanders coming right out of high school are eligible to pursue associate degrees at CCRI tuition-free.

Does Rhode Island Promise pay for textbooks? Rhode Island Promise does not cover textbooks, but there are other forms of financial aid that help students pay for textbooks, including federal grants and loans.
