
A Rhode Island woman was brutally murdered at a homeless shelter in Brattleboro, Vermont, and a woman has been arrested, according to officials. The suspect, Zaaina Asra Zakirrah Mahvish-Jammeh, 38, has been charged with second-degree murder. Court documents revealed that Mahvish-Jammeh attacked the shelter’s coordinator, Leah Rosin-Pritchard, 36, with an ax. Rosin-Pritchard suffered injuries to the face, neck, and torso, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Mahvish-Jammeh was caught on security video and seen wiping blood off her hands with a paper towel. In a statement, the shelter mourned Rosin-Pritchard as an “irreplaceable” person. Mahvish-Jammeh was arraigned in court and held without bail.
