The officers who confronted the shooter at The Covenant School in Nashville last week have spoken publicly for the first time. Detective Sergeant Jeff Mathes, Detective Michael Collazo, and Officer Rex Engelbert shared their recollections of the tragic events of 27 March, in which six people were killed, including three children. Audrey Hale, 28, was found to have fired 152 rounds after arriving at the school equipped with two assault-style rifles and one handgun. The police found detailed maps of the school and a manifesto at her family home, along with weapons she had hidden. Hale had previously attended the school and had no criminal history.
