The Rhode Island Blood Center (RIBC) and The Tomorrow Fund have teamed up to encourage donations following RIBC’s announcement of its first blood emergency of 2023. Participants donating blood between April 7 – 16, will contribute to RIBC’s lifesaving efforts in the community, and RIBC will, in turn, donate a dollar to the non-profit that supports children with cancer and their families. With 18,000 units of blood provided annually to Hasbro Children’s Hospital, RIBC states that 250 donations are needed each day to serve patients there and at other hospitals.
