The Nam Knights of America Motorcycle Club rode from Lincoln to Exeter on Sunday to honor Gold Star Spouses. The riders laid a wreath at the Gold Star Family Memorial Monument in Veterans Memorial Cemetery and planted American flags on tomb markers to honor those who lost their lives while serving in the military. Michael Alves, President of the Nathanael Green Chapter of the Nam Knights of Rhode Island, hopes that the ride will help raise awareness for Gold Star Spouses Day, which is on April 5th. Alves was approached by Gold Star wives who were upset about the lack of commemoration for the holiday and wanted to start a tradition to honor their sacrifice.
