The Massachusetts State Police reported that a man from East Providence is facing multiple charges after allegedly leading police on a pursuit with a stolen BMW X5. The vehicle was reported stolen from a dealership in Waltham, and the police traced it to an apartment complex in Foxborough Boulevard. The suspect, Jose L. Bautista, 30, was seen leaving the building and getting into the stolen vehicle. When the police approached him, he drove off, hitting at least four parked vehicles before leaving the scene. The police eventually caught him after he tried to steal another car at a gas station on Commercial Street. Bautista is facing more than a dozen charges, including receiving a stolen motor vehicle, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a large-capacity feeding device, trafficking fentanyl, and speeding. A gun was found in the stolen vehicle, and investigators are still searching the area for other evidence he may have discarded. Bautista was held overnight, and he is expected to be arraigned in court on Monday.
