Good morning! Today’s weather is shaping up to be quite busy. We will experience rain and wind, followed by a brief respite, and then more showers that could potentially lead to strong to severe thunderstorms in the evening. Additionally, there is a Dense Fog Advisory in effect for inland areas this morning, so please exercise caution while driving. We anticipate that rain will spread across the area throughout the morning, with the possibility of heavy rainfall and totals ranging from half an inch to an inch in some areas. Showers will continue through the early afternoon, during which time southwesterly winds may gust at 30-45mph. There will be some clearing in the afternoon as the rain shifts eastward, and temperatures will range from the upper 50s to around 60 degrees. We’ll have a break in the action until a line of showers and thunderstorms approaches between 8PM and 11PM for Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. The Storm Prediction Center has flagged our region with a slight to marginal risk of severe storms, which could potentially bring damaging wind gusts, heavy rain, lightning, and hail, primarily north and west of Providence. Sunday will be cooler and windier, with highs around 50 degrees.
