An investigation by the Providence Police Department found allegations of inappropriate conduct against Officer Gerry Kue to be unfounded. Kue had previously been suspended with pay following the allegations; however, he has since returned to regular duty. Kue was disciplined for not activating his body-worn camera during the interaction, which would have recorded video of the incident in question. It was reported that Kue did have a body-worn camera video of the initial call but failed to turn it on during a short interaction while leaving the scene, resulting in an administrative violation. The police department did not disclose the nature of the complaint against Kue, as it is protected under the Law Enforcement Officers’ Bill of Rights. The attorney general’s office, which was involved in the investigation, did not comment on the matter.
