The license of an in-home caregiver accused of exploiting an elderly woman in Little Compton has been revoked by the Rhode Island Department of Health. Jahlena Giron, 34, of Providence, was arrested two years ago for reportedly withdrawing money from the victim’s bank account and cashing a forged check. Giron failed to appear at a Health Department hearing earlier this month, leading to the revocation of her nursing assistant registration. She has been charged with several offenses, including exploitation of an elderly person and larceny. The Health Department found she violated the state’s licensing regulations and the law. Giron’s next court date is set for April 16.
