Good morning! Today is expected to be cold, damp and raw, with clouds filling in quickly after a little morning sunshine. Showers are likely to begin at noon and continue throughout the evening. These showers are due to a warm front moving towards New England. Rain chances increase in the afternoon, particularly during the late afternoon and evening when there’s a higher chance of a chilly rain. Although showers may persist during the evening, the skies are likely to clear by dawn, with temperatures dropping to the upper 30s overnight.
Sunday will begin with clearing skies and a beautiful sunrise, with overall pleasant weather expected. The winds will pick up from the west at 10-20mph, with some higher gusts, but the temperatures will jump to the upper 50s inland and mid 50s at the coast.
We’d also like to mention that the 12 News team members will be participating in the Special Olympics Torch Run Plunge on Sunday at noon. The air won’t be too bad, but the water is likely to be chilly! -Meteorologist T.J. Del Santo.
