A 19-year-old man was arrested by police in New Bedford, Massachusetts after he fled from a traffic stop. According to authorities, a masked passenger got out of the car and started running. The suspect went into a parking lot nearby where he tossed a firearm over a fence. Luis Garcia was identified as the suspect and arrested following a brief struggle. Police found 29 individually wrapped baggies of crack cocaine, 29 grams of marijuana, and over $400 in cash on him. Garcia had been arrested and released on bail twice last year for similar incidents. He is now facing a range of charges including trafficking cocaine, trespassing, carrying a loaded firearm, carrying ammunition, and carrying a high-capacity feeding device while committing a felony. The firearm was a loaded pistol that was tossed over the fence.
