Dollar Tree will stop selling eggs in its stores due to the surge in food prices caused by inflation, according to Reuters. The discount retailer, which is popular among budget shoppers in the US and Canada, plans to restock its egg inventory later this year. The price of eggs rose steeply in January following a bird flu outbreak, but fell 6.7% in February, Labor Department figures show. However, they are now 55.4% higher than a year ago. The retailer raised its prices in 2021 to $1.25 to accommodate reintroducing some products that had been discontinued under $1 restrictions.
