During a week-long DUI and Speed Enforcement campaign from March 10-18, the Rhode Island DUI Task Force arrested 59 impaired drivers, reported Lt. Don Barrington of the North Kingstown Police Department. The state also issued 433 speeding citations. The task force comprises members from the RI State Police, as well as local police officers, the RI Department of Transportation, Office of Highway Safety, and the RI Attorney General’s Office. Law enforcement officers plan to continue collaborating to maintain safe roadways throughout the year.
