Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce has announced the RI Rebounds Ventilation Initiative to encourage small businesses in improving air quality and circulation. The initiative will offer grants of around $2 million to eligible small businesses for indoor air quality enhancements. Interested businesses can apply for reimbursements of up to $10,000 for expenses incurred in air quality projects. These projects may include the installation of new ventilation systems, air purifiers, windows, or fans. To qualify for reimbursement, businesses must provide an air quality inspection receipt. The initiative aims to make small business owners, staff, and their customers feel comfortable in indoor settings, particularly during the winter months. Rhode Island Commerce Secretary Liz Tanner emphasized that improving indoor air quality is vital to protect small business economies against the impact of potential future public health emergencies.
