The business was thriving in Providence on Friday night as loyal fans of Providence College Friar gathered at bars and restaurants to watch the game. Bradley Cafe was packed with fans as the No.11 Friars played against No.6 Kentucky. Amy Viens, one of the co-owners of Bradley Cafe, expressed her excitement, stating that the energy was electrifying and that they loved their patrons who love the college and the Friars. Despite being knocked out of the Big Dance, the fans still came out in droves to support their team. Similarly, fans at The Abbey were mixed in with the St. Patrick’s Day crowd. Katie Hawksley, the owner of The Abbey, mentioned that St. Patrick’s Day was already a huge holiday for them, but having fans for the game made it even more electric. Rhode Island Firefighters Pipes and Drums performed at Blake’s Tavern for the patrons, which was filled for both the game and the holiday. Sana Asstafan, Blake’s Tavern’s owner, said it had been great, and they couldn’t have asked for a better day.
