Kiwi, a young gray seal found stranded on Nantucket earlier this year, was successfully returned to the ocean on Thursday. After being rescued in January due to malnourishment and an infection, Kiwi was rehabilitated and gained almost double her weight at Mystic Aquarium’s Animal Rescue Clinic in Connecticut. She made her triumphant return to the sea at Blue Shutters Beach in Charlestown, where spectators cheered as she joyfully dove back into her natural habitat.
