Clio Snacks is recalling their “Strawberry Granola and Greek Yogurt Parfait Bars” due to possible listeria contamination, as reported by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The recall impacts select Walmart stores, including ones in Rhode Island. The problem was discovered at the manufacturing facility, and no other Clio Snacks products are affected. The single-serving boxes with UPC Code 854021008152 and Lot Number 048C2023, stamped with an expiration date of 4/30/2023, should not be consumed and can be returned for a refund. No illnesses have been reported, but listeria symptoms can occur one to four weeks after consuming contaminated food, and can cause fever, muscle aches, nausea, and diarrhea. Although antibiotics can treat listeria, it is especially dangerous to pregnant women, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. The article includes several images from the FDA.
