WPRI 12 is honoring women who inspire, lead, and pave the way for others during International Women’s Month. The Remarkable Women contest invited people across the nation to nominate women who stood out in their lives. Tonya Maselli is one of four finalists chosen. Maselli, a single mother and social worker, volunteered to help families find their missing loved ones at ground zero in the aftermath of 9/11. She faced breast cancer with a reminder of positivity every day. Each Tuesday in March, WPRI 12 will feature a finalist’s story on 12 News This Morning and The Rhode Show, and all finalists’ stories will be posted on WPRI.com. The winner will be considered for Nexstar’s 2023 Woman of the Year award.
