A Pawtucket mother and her boyfriend were arrested by police after her toddler was exposed to fentanyl and other narcotics. First responders were called to the apartment in Prospect Heights when the 2-year-old stopped breathing. The child was rushed to Hasbro Children’s Hospital and tested positive for fentanyl, cocaine and xylazine. Emarys Cruz, 21, and Jeifry Dejesus, 28, were arrested and charged with endangerment of a child. The Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families is investigating the incident. The child has recovered from the exposure.
