The Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church hosted a fundraising luncheon in Providence, R.I., alongside various organizations, to offer aid to those impacted by the devastating earthquakes that occurred last month and caused numerous fatalities in Turkey and Syria. Attendees paid $25 to participate in the event, and the proceeds will benefit churches in Aleppo, Syria, where people struggle to obtain basic necessities. Galin Tashian, a Syrian-born community member, also had relatives affected by the earthquakes, and their family was forced to sleep in their car due to unsafe living conditions. Tashian expressed gratitude for even small donations, as every amount helps those struggling to survive. Those who wish to donate can visit the Armenian Relief Society’s website.
