The Rhode Island Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA) recently rescued 20 rabbits from a Cranston apartment. According to RISPCA, these neglected rabbits were living in deplorable conditions and were found in dog crates stacked on top of one another. The majority of the rabbits are currently undergoing veterinary care and will soon be put up for adoption. RISPCA plans to file charges against the animals’ former owners. This comes less than a month after 30 guinea pigs were rescued from a single home. RISPCA urgently needs ceramic bowls, small animal chew toys, and fleece blankets. Donations for the rabbits can be dropped off at RISPCA’s headquarters in East Providence. The post includes a slideshow with images of the rescued rabbits and their conditions.
