Police in New Bedford, Massachusetts have arrested former officer Stephen Greany on charges of stealing city property and selling drugs. Detectives found a variety of stolen items in Greany’s home, including a bulletproof vest, gaming console, copper items, and fire alarms. Greany is also accused of stealing those items while working in the Department of Fleet and Facilities Management. In addition to the stolen goods, detectives discovered marijuana and drugs, ammunition, and thousands of dollars in cash. Greany faces charges of larceny and possession of class B and D substances with intent to distribute. It was also revealed that Greany had previously been convicted of corruption-related charges in the late 90s. Greany is no longer employed by the city.
