The former top aide to Providence Mayor Vincent “Buddy” Cianci, Frank Corrente, has passed away at 94 years old. According to Attorney Artin Coloian, he died on Wednesday night. Corrente was convicted of corruption charges in 2002 as part of Operation Plunder Dome, which was a federal investigation into corruption in Providence City Hall. He received a prison sentence of over four years after being caught on FBI undercover video accepting a $1,000 bribe from Antonio Freitas in his office.
