A 2-alarm fire that occurred in East Providence early Sunday morning is currently under investigation. Firefighters received an alarm from a building located at 830 Waterman Ave at around 6:30 a.m. Upon arrival, fire was found at the loading dock. The sprinkler system was triggered and was able to contain the fire to the loading dock area. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, limiting the damage. Fortunately, no one was inside the building during the incident, and there were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
