The Ocean State of Rhode Island is set to award grants of $10,000 to local nonprofits, thanks to a new vaccination incentive program announced by Governor Dan McKee. The program would reward organizations that helped Rhode Islanders during the pandemic, with grant money benefiting the entire community. The Rhode Island Department of Commerce, Rhode Island Department of Health, and the Rhode Island Foundation have contributed $750,000 to create the COVID-19 Vaccination Incentive Fund. Interested nonprofits can apply through the Rhode Island Foundation Portal, with grant awards offered each time 5,000 more Rhode Islanders are vaccinated. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations based in Rhode Island that provided services or assistance to those impacted by the pandemic. The grants are aimed at nonprofits with annual operating budgets of less than $3,000,000 in 2020.
