Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) is organizing its 13th annual book drive to celebrate National Reading Month. This event is in support of Books Are Wings, a non-profit organization based in Pawtucket, which provides more than 60,000 free books to children in need every year. Executive Director Jennifer Smith expressed her appreciation for the book drive, stating that it is vital for their ability to get books to children before they end the school year and keep books available to them during the summer.
Throughout March, all BankRI locations will have a collection bin at their entrance where new or gently used books can be donated. Additionally, books can also be donated through the non-profit’s Amazon wishlist. BankRI’s President and CEO, Will Tsonos, expressed his gratitude towards the community for their continuous support of this drive and hopes to make this year’s drive the best ever.
