The University of Rhode Island’s Theatre Department has debuted its first production, “Silent Sky” by Lauren Gunderson, since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The play tells the story of a group of female astronomers at Harvard University who mapped the stars at the start of the 20th century, with the main character being astronomer Henrietta Swan. As per the University’s policy, all guests, including audience members, must be fully vaccinated or show proof of vaccination status before entering, but anyone ineligible due to age is exempt. The show runs until Oct. 24th at URI’s Fine Arts Center.
