An investigation is underway following a diesel truck’s collision into the woods located in Scituate on Thursday evening.
According to North Scituate Fire Chief Adam Hebert, the truck was driving down Hartford Pike when, for unknown reasons, the driver swerved off the road and hit multiple trees.
The driver sustained “significant injuries” and was transported to the hospital, while a passenger sustained minor injuries.
The truck leaked fuel onto the roadway, but it has since been cleaned up, added Hebert.
The roadway has been shut down for several hours due to firefighters separately removing the truck from the woods.
The cause of the crash remains unknown at this time.
