Westerly Community Credit Union (WCCU) is giving $75,000 to Wood River Health Services (WRHS), a Federally Qualified Health Center that has been providing medical, dental, and social services to residents of southwestern Rhode Island and southeastern Connecticut since 1976. The demand for high-quality, broad-based services at community health centers has increased significantly in the last 10 years. WCCU’s donation will be used to construct a new wing on WRHS’s Main Street campus in Hope Valley to meet the demand. With the continued generosity of local businesses, grantors, service organizations, and private donors investing in this vital project, WRHS hopes to begin construction on the addition in Spring 2022.
This donation is part of the #WCCUCares campaign, which aims to support local community organizations that directly assist individuals in their communities. “Helping our members and local community is a top priority for us, and we want to make a positive impact by actively engaging with the communities we serve,” said Stephen White, President/CEO of Westerly Community Credit Union. “We are extremely proud to partner with Wood River Health Services as they expand their facility to not only meet the needs of our community, but also improve the patient experience and increase the number of people they can assist.”
