PhD Studentship in Porous Organic Molecules at University of Liverpool, UK
PhD Studentship in Porous Organic Molecules at the Department of Chemistry, University of Liverpool, UK 2012
Study Subject(s): Porous Organic Molecules
Course Level: PhD Studentship
Scholarship Provider: University of Liverpool
Scholarship can be taken at: UK
Applicants should hold a Masters level degree in Chemistry, or equivalent, and project experience in organic chemistry would be an advantage
A Ph.D. studentship is available in the research group of Professor Andrew Cooper in the Chemistry Department, University of Liverpool to commence in October 2012. Porous materials are important in a variety of applications such as molecular separations, catalysis, and energy storage. Our group has developed a new method for preparing porous materials by the self-assembly of nanometer-sized, inherently-porous organic cage molecules (Nature Mater., 2009, 8, 973; Nature, 2011, 474, 367). The project will involve aspects of organic synthesis, crystallization, and structure determination. The successful applicant will join a large and diverse research group and will collaborate with other members of the team, particularly with researchers in the area of molecular modeling
