-Preference will be given, in the first instance, to applicants connected with the Daughters of the American Revolution (those who are actual members or the descendents of members in good standing with the DAR).
-Applied for admission to the University of Aberdeen Submitted the relevant application form for the scholarship.
-Been offered admission to the University by the closing date (below).

Scholarship Open for International Students: Yes (USA)

The University of Aberdeen wishes to commemorate the life and work of Gen. Mercer commencing in October 2012 by awarding a PhD scholarship for research on any aspect of Scottish-American relations (including but not limited to: history, law, religion, philosophy, education, politics, international relations). The scholarship will cover full tuition fees for the duration of the degree plus a contribution towards living expenses of £6000 per year (c. US$10,000).
