Candidates must have graduated at a University before 1 October 2012. Consideration will normally be restricted to those who have a record of academic excellence consistent with the proposed field of study and who can demonstrate the potential to make a significant contribution to the broader life of Magdalene College. It is expected that in due course Donner Scholars will become leading figures in the field of Anglo – North American relations.
The Donner Scholarship is open to exceptionally well-qualified British and Canadian candidates, of outstanding academic and leadership potential. They will be studying at the University of Cambridge for an appropriate MPhil degree in matters relevant to any aspect of Anglo – North American relations. Successful candidates will have satisfied the provisional requirements of the Board of Graduate Studies of the University of Cambridge and have been provisionally accepted for registration on one of its postgraduate programmes The Scholarship will be tenable for one year from the start of the next academic year (1 October 2012). Candidates must have graduated at a University before 1 October 2012. Consideration will normally be restricted to those who have a record of academic excellence consistent with the proposed field of study and who can demonstrate the potential to make a significant contribution to the broader life of Magdalene College. It is expected that in due course Donner Scholars will become leading figures in the field of Anglo – North American relations. While consideration will normally be restricted to those who have obtained, or who have a strong prospect of obtaining, a first-class Honours degree (or its North American equivalent), evidence of subsequent intellectual development will be taken into account.
