Eligibility:

 

•Awards will be made to women holding a degree from a recognized institution of higher learning, of outstanding ability and promise in research, who are performing research at any institution in the U.S. or abroad.
Career level (e.g. graduate student vs. assistant professor) of the candidate will be taken into consideration when reviewing the proposals.
•Awards will be made irrespective of race, religion, nationality, creed, national origin, sexual orientation, or age.
•Active SDE/GWIS membership is encouraged at the time of and throughout the duration of funding. Membership must include both chapter and National dues.

Eligibility:
-Be women currently residing in the United States or Canada.
-Be women who have earned a high school diploma or their GED on or before September 2001.
-Be enrolled or plan to enroll in a full or part-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited 2- or 4-year college or university.
-Be attending the full 2012-13 academic year and receiving a degree no earlier than May 2013.
-Have at least two semesters (24 credit hours or more) remaining to complete an undergraduate degree as of the beginning of the 2012 fall academic term.

-Applicant must agree to use funds granted during the current academic year.
- There is only one scholarship awarded annually for $1,000.

Candidates must be unmarried women 25 to 35 years of age who have demonstrated their ability to carry on original research. They must hold a doctorate or have fulfilled all the requirements for a doctorate except the dissertation, and they must be planning to devote full-time work to research during the fellowship year. The award is not restricted to members of Phi Beta Kappa or to U.S. citizens.

Eligibility:

 

1.Must be a women’s human rights lawyer from Africa.
2.As a requirement of participation in the LAWA Program, all applicants must commit to return home to their own countries upon completion of the Fellowship, and to use their best professional efforts to advance women’s human rights in their counties throughout their careers.
3. Candidates who are awarded a LAWA Fellowship must be prepared to cover the costs of all additional expenses (such as visas, travel, housing, utilities, food, clothing, health insurance, books, fees, etc.), and must be able to demonstrate to the U.S. Embassy for visa purposes that they have the funds available to cover these expenses (over U.S. $25,000).
