C.V. Starr Center for the Study of the American Experience and the John Carter Brown Library invite applications for the Hodson Trust-John Carter Brown Fellowship, a unique research and writing fellowship.
The Hodson-Brown Fellowship supports work by academics, independent scholars and writers working on significant projects relating to the literature, history, culture,
or art of the Americas before 1830. Candidates with a U.S. history topic are strongly encouraged to concentrate on the period prior to 1801. California Science and Technology Policy Fellowships are accepting applications from scientists and engineers interested in filling up to 10 year-long appointments as an advisor in the California State Legislature

The program, adapted for California from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Congressional Science and Technology Fellowship program, is the first in the nation to place PhD-level scientists and engineers in a state legislature.
Recruited nationally, successful applicants will assist legislators in formulating and evaluating science and technology policy for California.
