Postgraduate Scholarship in Inorganic Chemistry at Lund University, 2011, Sweden
Masters Scholarship in the field of Inorganic Chemistry at Lund University in Sweden 2011
Graduate training in inorganic/organometallic chemistry. The project is to develop heterogeneous catalysts based on metal nano-particles for oxidation reactions and to study their mechanisms. The project aims at developing new synchrotron based characterisation techniques for these catalysts. Thus, part of the work will be carried out at MAX-lab in collaboration with the Division of Synchrotron Radiation Research at the Department of Physics.
Basic entry requirements for PhD studies are: a degree at advanced level, courses to an extent of at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 at advanced level, or corresponding proficiencies aquired in Sweden or elsewhere. Read the rest of this entry »
Postgraduate Position in Human Geography, Sweden
University of Lund Offers PhD position in the department of Human Geography, Sweden

Postgraduate Position in Political Science Directed Towards International Climate Policy, Sweden
Scholarship for those students who have acquired basically the same qualifications in some other way in Sweden or abroad
Study Subject: Political Science
Employer: Lund University
Level: Postgraduate
Postgraduate position is part of the strategic research initiative Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services in a Changing Climate (BECC), specifically the research theme on Governance and Economics of Natural Resources. This theme critically evaluates synergies and trade-offs between policies addressing climate change, biodiversity protection, forestry and ecosystem resilience as well as formulates policies and strategies that lead to an integrated policy management. Carbon accounting is a concept that draws attention to the conditions under which climate governance becomes possible. Carbon accounting highlights the necessity of the ‘counting of carbon’ and the measures that enable stocks and flows of carbon to be taken into account. Carbon accounting is thus concerned with the ways in which carbon can be measured, quantified, modelled and statistically aggregated, for example in forest and soils, and the translation of this knowledge into international negotiations, policies and political institutions.
Doctoral student in Physics, Acceleratorphysics (MNFYSI01) Linear Accelerator and and Short Pulses at MAX-Lab, Sweden
Doctoral Student in Physics, Acceleratorpysics Linear Accelerator and Short Pulses at Max Lab- Sweden ( Departement of Science) For this scholarships candidates should have experience of accelerator physics
PhD student in accelerator physics you will work with development of the technology around linear accelerators and electron guns with focus on the control, compression and diagnostics of the special electron pulses needed for Free Electron Laser (FEL) applications. This is a world of fundamental physics such as electrodynamics, relativity, mechanics and light propagation in an exciting mixture with spear head technology, lab work and new experiments in one of Sweden’s largest research facilities.
The group is today actively working with a test facility for FELs at MAX-lab on the control and optimization of sub pico second long electron pulses. The future work will be more closely related to the development of the short pulse capabilities in the MAX IV project which during the time of the PhD work will go from design to start-up and operation.
Postgraduate Scholarship in Biomedicine- Medical Structural Biology, Sweden
Postgraduate Scholarship at the department of Experimental Medical Science in Lund University – Sweden
The objective of the project is to acquire detailed functional and structural information of the polyamine biosynthetic enzymes from protozoan parasites causing tropical diseases, especially yhr malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum. The polyamines constitute a group of cell components that are essential for growth and survival of many human pathogens and polyamine biosynthesis is a potential drug target. The proposed project includes work within areas like parasitology, molecular and structural biology, biochemistry and biophysics.
