The successful candidate must be a team-player and is expected to work closely with the rest of the research group. The selected candidate should be motivated, talented, and curiosity driven individual with a strong background in experimental science, preferentially nuclear science, and laboratory work. She or he must also fully master a Scandinavian language or English, and should have writing skills good enough to write journal papers in English. The candidate is expected to participate in supervision of PhD and Masters-degree students, thus previous teaching and/or supervision experience is an advantage.
The research is challenging and demands that the research group has expertise in many fields: Radiochemistry, aqueous-phase complexation chemistry, liquid-liquid extraction chemistry, liquid scintillation counting, gamma spectroscopy, computer systems for instrument control and data acquisition, nuclear physics, and more. Candidates should have a Ph.D. equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in relevant areas of social and educational science, as well as experience with higher education studies as documented through academic degrees or course work, research and publishing. Documented knowledge about the specificities of the governance and organisation of Norwegian and/or Western Balkan higher education systems, will be viewed as a merit for the position. Experience of and interest in cross-disciplinary work will also be advantageous, along with familiarity with both qualitative and quantitative research methods. A good command of English is required.
