Postdoctoral Research Associate in Statistical Genetics, Iceland

Iceland Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the Department of Statistics Genetics

We are seeking to appoint several Post-doctoral Research fellows in statistical genetics to join Dr. Augustine Kong’s statistics group at deCODE genetics. The successful applicant will form part of a team working to understand the role of common and rare variants in common complex disease using genome-wide association scan and whole-genome sequence data. This position will be based at deCODE genetics Reykjavik.

deCODE is embarking on a large scale human whole-genome sequencing project. Data generated through that project together with the wealth of phenotypic information and the ability to phase the genomes of Icelanders allows for association analysis of sequence variants with frequency as low as 0.1% with over 300 different human traits.

Iceland: Post Doctoral Position in Speech Recognition, Reykjavik University

Post Doctoral Position in Speech Recognition, Reykjavik University, Iceland

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the area of computational speech processing. We are looking for a scientist/engineer with a PhD and experience in machine learning, statistics, and speech processing or in a closely related field. The ability to communicate and work as part of a highly interactive research team is essential. The project will focus on the development of dynamical modeling of recorded speech with special attention on linear Gaussian models, switching linear dynamical systems and continuos-valued hidden dynamic models. The principal investigator is Jon Gudnason of Reykjavik University and coinvestigators are Sigurdur Freyr Hafstein of Reykjavik University and Mike Brookes of Imperial College London.

Iceland: Postdoctoral Research Position on Dynamic Models for Transitions Towards Sustainable Transportation, Reykjavik University

Postdoctoral research position on dynamic models for transitions towards sustainable transportation, Reykjavik University, Iceland

A post postdoctoral research project in the area of dynamic models for transitions towards sustainable transportation is available at Reykjavik University.
The research aims to develop a behavioral, dynamic simulation model to explore the possible transition towards sustainable mobility. More specifically the transition from fossil fuel to alternative fuel vehicles such as full electric, hybrids, compressed natural gas, biofuels and hydrogen vehicles.   Read the rest of this entry »
