Eligibility:
A – semester/partial studies (3-10 months) Available for: undergraduate (BA/BSc) and graduate (MA/MSc) students (enrolled at foreign higher education institutions), especially those majoring in Hungarian Language and Literature and students participating in a single degree track university programme (such as General Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmaceutical Studies, Veterinary Studies, Architecture, Studies in Law, etc.). Before application, students are required to have completed minimum two semesters at their home institutions. For ‘Type A’ scholarship students may apply only on one occasion during their Bachelor’s studies, and once during their Master’s studies.
B – postgraduate studies, research (3-21 days or 1-10 months) Available for: applicants holding a Master’s degree or an equivalent university degree, including PhD students who intend to do research for their dissertation and wish to stay in Hungary for less than 10 months. (However, PhD students cannot earn credits during the scholarship period at the host university.)
C/1 – full PhD programme (36 months) Only students proficient in Hungarian can apply. The scholarship is conditional upon successful entrance exam / admission to the respective doctoral school.
C/2 – partial PhD studies (10 months) Applicants must be enrolled in a PhD programme at an accredited higher education institution in their home country or in a foreign country (but not in Hungary).
D – postdoctoral studies, research (1-10 months) Applicants must hold a PhD or an equivalent degree.

CEU Professorial and CEU Visiting Research Fellowships to Citizens of Countries in Central and Eastern Europe (Except EU Member States)

Program is designed to promote original research, which can be of practical benefit to a particular country or region, and to increase exchange between scholars of the region and Central European University. The Research Fellowship Programs are applicable to citizens of countries in Central and Eastern Europe (except EU member states), the former Soviet Union of Mongolia holding a Ph. D. or equivalent, who are affiliated with a teaching or research institution within the above said countries.
The program supports two types of Research Fellows. CEU Professorial Research Fellows hold a full professorship, and are academics of established (preferably national) standing within their discipline. Training Fellowships in Surgical Oncology

Fellowship program in surgical oncology for European and non European applicants.

The Education & Training Committee of ESSO is pleased to offer a number of Training Fellowships to support trainees in Surgical Oncology. The aim of these fellowships is to allow young surgeons to visit a specialist centre, expand their experience and learn new techniques. These fellowships are competitive and applicants require support from the head of their own department as well as from the head of the department they wish to visit.

Up to 10 standard fellowships (value 2,000 EUR each) are granted each year to support a young colleague who wishes to spend 1-3 months at a specialist centre in order to expand his/her clinical or research experience in surgical oncology.

In addition, one major training fellowship (value 10,000 EUR) is intended for a longer period of training (6-12 months). The successful applicant of the Major Fellowship will be invited to summarise this experience in an original article to be posted on the ESSO website. He/she will also be invited to give an oral presentation at the next ESSO congress.

Eligibility criteria

  • Applicants must be specialist/specializing in surgery (or in any other medical discipline where cancer surgery is performed, i.e. gynaecology).
  • Applicants must be or become ESSO members.
  • Applicants must be younger than 40 years.
  • European applicants may choose to visit European or non-European units, while non-European applicants must choose to visit a European centre.

Fellowships to Attend a Scientific Meeting in Hungary, Hungary

Cross Talk is an Initial Training Program, funded under the FP7. It gathers 14 young researchers and 4 associated fellows in the field of the human microbiome metagenomics to study the health-promoting cross-talk between intestinal microbiota and Humans.

The next Cross Talk meeting will take place in Debrecen (Hungary) from August 31 to September 4.

We are offering fellowships to young researchers to attend the meeting. More information about the conference is available in our website: www.cross-talk.eu and in the agenda (in attachment).

Applications are welcomed until July 20 on our website.
