The Isobel Bennett Marine Biology Fellowship is named in recognition of the late Dr Isobel Bennett who was one of Australia’s eminent marine biologists. The Hermon Slade Raiatea Foundation has provided funding to the Lizard Island Reef Research Foundation (LIRRF) to enable this fellowship.

Benefits
The maximum value of each 2011 fellowship is AU$11,000, payable in April 2011 and to be spent within one year. For successful applicants who are employed at Australian institutions and who can thus provide Australian tax invoices, the payments will be $11,000 plus $1,100 GST. Read the rest of this entry »

Australia PhD Scholarship in Forestry and Environmental Science, Griffith University,

A full PhD scholarship valued at $27,000 per annum is available to work on a major externally funded project within the Environmental Futures Centre at Griffith University.
Project:     Wyaralong dam carbon offset and greenhouse gas investigation program
Funded by: Queensland Water Infrastructure

The successful PhD candidate will work on carbon dynamics in soils and sediments of Wyaralong dam areas under the joint supervision of Dr Chengrong Chen, Professor Zhihong Xu and Dr Tim Blumfield (all members of the Environmental Futures Centre).

Scholarship value and duration:

Graduate Research School of Edith Cowan University Western Australia offers PhD and Master Research Scholarships for the 2010/11 session to International Students at University.
The EIPRS scheme is prestigious and highly competitive. In 2009 three EIPRS scholarships and four ECU-IPRS were offered for tenure at Edith Cowan University.

Scholarship WORTH
The scholarships provide the recipient with tuition fee and health care cover for the duration of their research program. In addition, each successful EIPRS recipient will be offered an ECU International Stipend (ECUIS) to meet living costs for the same period. The A E Ringwood Scholarships are designed to attract students of high calibre to pursue PhD research in earth sciences. This scholarship is only available at the following educational institutions: Australian National University (ANU).

General information
Eligibility Criteria: Bachelors degree with first-class honours, or a research Masters degree from a recognised university; International Students
Other Benefits: Awardees of this scholarship will have been successful in obtaining a full Tuition Fee Scholarship and an ANU (stipend) Scholarship; which include travel to Canberra; reimbursement of some removal expenses, thesis reimbursement allowance.

Applicants must: be undertaking a research PhD in the field of earth sciences; have achieved first-class honours or a master degree from a recognised university; be international students; and have been successful in obtaining a full tuition fee scholarship and an ANU stipend scholarship.
