Swinburne University of Technology offers Chancellor’s Research Scholarship for both International and Local doctorate students to do research at Australia, 2012

Scholarship can be taken at: Swinburne University of Technology
To become and remain eligible for a CRS a student:
-May be a local or an international student
-Must meet the University’s enrolment eligibility criteria including language proficiency
-Must have completed a Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours, or be regarded by the University as having an equivalent level of attainment in accordance with these Guidelines
-Must be undertaking a research doctorate
-Must be enrolled as a full-time student, unless the University has approved a part-time CRS for the student under these Guidelines
-Must not previously have held a postgraduate research scholarship (some exceptions may apply, contact Swinburne Research for more information)
-Must not be receiving an equivalent award, scholarship or salary providing a benefit greater than 75% of the CRS stipend rate, to undertake the HDR
-Must study in an identified area of research strength for Swinburne University
-Must undertake a 6 month overseas research placement at an institution identified and approved by Swinburne University

-Be enrolled, or be seeking to enrol, as a full-time candidate in a Doctor of Philosophy course at the University in the year for which the award is to be allocated;
Intend to enrol in an area of research concentration.
-These are areas in which the University has particular strength including a concentration of research resources.
-Be a citizen of any overseas country except New Zealand, and not hold Australian citizenship or Australian permanent resident status.
-Not have consumed more than 2.5 equivalent full-time study load (EFTSL) (i.e. have been enrolled in a maximum of 2.5 years full-time equivalent (FTE) study) in current enrolment in a higher degree by research at the time of applying for the IPRS.

Eligibility:
1.Eligibility is confined to students who are enrolled in undergraduate degree programs offered by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, who are accepted to study overseas on formal University of Sydney Exchange Programs.
2. Scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the selection committee on the basis of merit.
3. The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences reserves the right to specify destination regions or countries for which applications will be prioritized, based upon either (i) Faculty strategic priorities, or (ii) donor preferences. In 2012, priority will be given to students applying for exchange places in Asia (China, Hong Kong, Indonesia,Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore). Priority areas will be reviewed on an annual basis.
4. Scholarships cannot be awarded more than once to the same student.
