The March of Dimes seeks applications requesting grant support for Research & Global Programs projects related to causes of prematurity. Research proposals of new paradigms based on strong conceptual frameworks are invited. The intent is to provide new insights into the large, and increasing,proportion of preterm deliveries in which the cause (and thus the means of prevention) remains elusive. The proposals need to consider especially, but not be limited to, genetics, gene-environment interactions, and animal models. We encourage novel approaches. Applicants must be members of not-for-profit institutions. Potential applicants should submit electronically the required administrative information and a Letter of Intent addressed to the Senior Vice President for Research and Global Programs summarizing the proposed studies via our online system

This award is intended to enable a female graduate student from outside the United States to have an academic and cultural experience at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Preference will be given to a student who has had a limited opportunity to travel outside of her home country.
Applicants must either be: a) currently enrolled as graduate students at UIUC with at least one academic year (i.e., two semesters) of graduate school remaining after the conclusion of the academic year in which the student is applying for the Gratton Award; OR b) if not currently enrolled as graduate students at UIUC, applicants must be applying as graduate students at UIUC for the academic year immediately following the year in which the student is applying for the Gratton Award (Note: Applicants who have not yet been admitted to UIUC must follow regular academic admission procedures.

Doctoral Grant in the field of sustainability of the Earth’s environment, resources, inhabitants, or ecological systems through responsible stewardship in USA -2011
This scholarship is for $5,000, to encourage and reward study and the creation of new knowledge in Earth Ethics at the doctoral level. This award is intended to facilitate research or assist with the costs associated with study at the doctoral level and may be used for tuition, books, research, or other costs directly related to the completion of the thesis or dissertation. The topic must be approved by the candidate’s department or supervising faculty member before its description may be submitted for the award. The completed thesis or dissertation must remain focused on Earth Ethics. The dissertation or thesis need not be initially prepared in English, but all materials, supporting and primary, must be provided in English. Doctoral students from around the globe are encouraged to apply.
Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station Scholarship Program, USA
Arizona Public Service Co. (APS) and Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station are proud to announce the availability of the Palo Verde Scholarship for the 2011 – 2012 academic year. This year Palo Verde will award five (5) $1,000 scholarships to local high school seniors.
The Palo Verde Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to deserving graduating seniors in the plant’s surrounding community. This is done with the goal of supporting and improving the community in which it operates, specifically by providing resources which help young adults in the community improve their opportunities and meet their educational goals.
To be eligible, an applicant must:
Be a graduating senior at one of the following high schools: Buckeye Union, Tonopah Valley, Verrado, Wickenburg, Youngker or Estrella Foothills.
Enroll as a full-time student at an Arizona university, college, or trade school for the 2011 – 2012 academic year.
Have a high school academic cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher (non-weighted).
Show involvement in school activities, extracurricular activities and/or community service.

The Patriot Spouses’ Club will be awarding scholarships to qualified applicants for the 2011-2012 school year. The scholarships will be awarded in three categories:
1. High School Seniors
2. College students (no older than 24 years)
3. Spouses
Eligible applicants are the children or spouses of U.S. Army personnel or other U.S. military personnel who are assigned, attached or otherwise affiliated with Fort Sill at time of application who are enrolled in an accredited post-secondary program during
the 2011-2012 academic year. The sponsor may be active duty or retired, officer or enlisted. Children or spouses of deceased Soldiers who currently reside in the Lawton- Fort Sill area may also apply.
High school seniors and spouse applicants must currently reside in the Lawton-Fort Sill area* along with their sponsor. The sponsor of college applicants must reside within the Lawton-Fort Sill area.*
