Postdoctoral Position in Computational Material Mechanics – Crashworthiness Specialist, Sweden
Postdoctoral Scholarship at The Department of Applied Mechanics at Chalmers University
Applications are invited for a post-doc position in the field of crashworthiness of future vehicles, with emphasis on lightweight materials and structures. The assignment is for 2 years, and focus of the work is research oriented, but contribution to the teaching activities at the department is also expected. The candidate should contribute to the acquisition of new research projects.
The post-doc is expected to provide the leadership and direction to the development of the vehicle crashworthiness field at Chalmers. Current research issues are related to composites process modeling, and, linked to that, composite mechanics with emphasis on material, fracture and structure modeling. The position is to be placed at the Department of Applied Mechanics within the Division of Material and Computational Mechanics with strong links to the Division of Vehicle Safety.
Part of the research, with emphasis on the development of future vehicle concepts, will be positioned at SAFER, which is the centre of excellence in vehicle and traffic safety at Chalmers. Projects at SAFER are often Read the rest of this entry »

Switzerland Postdoctoral Position Architecture and Circuit Design for Digital Logic based on Nanoelectromechanical Switch Devices
Candidates should have understanding of mixed-signal circuit design as well as a strong grasp of the tools and methodologies used in digital logic design
The traditional scaling of CMOS technology is increasingly constrained by power limitations (e.g., saturation of the clock frequency in microprocessors). Therefore the microelectronic industry is researching radically new devices that drastically improve the energy efficiency of microelectronic systems. One promising – still largely unexplored – technology is based on NanoElectroMechanical (NEM) switches which potentially offer significant improvements in energy efficiency. In this project, we investigate the viability of this technology by developing a competitive and manufacturable device, perform materials research to address inherent reliability issues, and develop tools and methodologies to build complex logic based on novel NEM switch devices.
To strengthen our team, we are seeking a highly motivated individual with very good interpersonal skills and a strong background in mixed-signal circuit design as well as in the design and implementation of MEMS/NEMS interface circuitry. Read the rest of this entry »
Switzerland Postdoctoral Position Nanoelectromechanical Switch Devices for Logic Application
Candidates should have experience in the design and characterization of such devices as well as extensive experience in using multi-physics simulation tools (such as ANSYS). Switzerland Postdoctoral Position for IBM Research GmbH for Department of Physics ( Nanoelectromechanical Switch Devices for Logic Application)
There is an immediate opening for a postdoctoral research position in the nanofabrication group at the IBM Research – Zurich laboratory for research on nanoelectromechanical (NEM) switch devices for logic applications.

Australia Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Urban Conservation Planning
Australia Postdoc Fellowship at Socials Urban Conservation Planning, Global Change Institute University of Queensland
For staff entitled to 17% employer contributions, UniSuper does not mandate a level of member contribution to superannuation. However, in order to receive the full standard range of benefits under UniSuper, the
member must pay 7% contributions from their salary (or a salary sacrifice equivalent contribution of 8.25%). It will be assumed that a 7% member contribution will apply unless the member formally notifies UniSuper of a decision of pay a lesser member contribution (or no member contribution). Other options for salary sacrifice include a motor vehicle, laptop
computer, campus car parking and “in-house” benefits.
The Global Change Institute (GCI) has been established at the University of Queensland to address major global challenges. Our world is changing at an ever quickening pace through natural causes and human activity. A changing climate, an exponentially expanding human population and an ever growing demand for resources create challenges for the environment and in food production, energy, health and access to clean water on local, national and global scales.
