Postdoctoral Position in Modeling of Biological Systems, France

Postdoctoral Position,Modeling of Biological Systems,Clinical and/or biological data, and mathematical physics,France

The current projects of our group are centered on the modelling of biological systems (especially diffuse brain tumors but also bacterial colonies) based on clinical and/or biological data, and mathematical physics for the study of dynamical systems.

We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to address some theoretical issues raised by our modelling projects. The applicant should have a solid background in modelling, theoretical physics of complex systems (or statistical physics), computer simulations or mathematical physics, and show his/her interest in biological questions. Knowledge in image processing is welcome. Demonstration of good oral and written communication skills in English is essential.

The fellow will benefit from the stimulating interdisciplinary environment offered by the IMNC laboratory, on the Orsay Campus, near Paris. Activities are centered on cancer studies and neurobiology; some current research themes of the others groups in the lab are: experimental studies of the energetic cerebral metabolism in small animals, Monte Carlo simulations and reconstructions of PET imaging, the design of per-operative Imagers.
